Corporate Design, Commissions, and Illustrations 

In the late 1990’s I was tasked with designing mural for the Dayton Hudson Corporation Headquarters in Minneapolis, MN. The idea was to pattern the design after the work of Russian artist, Alexander Ivanov, whose artwork, at the time, embellished some areas of the flagship stores. After the company officially embraced the Marshall Field and Company identity, I worked with a group of glass blowers in Washington state – some of whom were former studio artists for Dale Chihuly. I designed and they manufactured a series of larger-than-life fruits, vegetables, eggs and noodles to adorn the food courts at Marshall Fields’ Chicago and Minneapolis locations. Together, we also created a slumped glass sculpture rendition of the iconic Marshall Field’s State Street clock, for the archives in Chicago.  At the time, there was a desire for branded Marshall Field’s products. I did the source illustrations of the same clock for wallpaper that decorated the ceiling of the brand shop at the State Street store. 

Into the 2000’s I continued doing illustrations, working with Best Buy Co., Inc. on a background map image for a spring mobile electronics campaign.  And then came a few painted illustrations for international philanthropic organization, P.E.O. 

I’ve also had the pleasure of creating artwork for another corporate headquarter building based in MN. Boston Scientific commissioned me to create found object works that featured products which they created. You’ll see below some of those that feature angioplasty ports and balloons.
